My favorite nursery decor trend that I’ve seen rising in 2024 is WALLPAPER!

Wallpaper is the perfect way to add a fun or interesting touch to your child’s nursery.

The best thing about nursery decor is you can get away with a lot of whimsical choices that you wouldn’t be able to pull off in other areas of the home.

So utilize the extra freedom and have some fun with your design! You won’t see rabbit and squirrel wallpaper in someone’s formal dining room, but the wallpaper in number 13 is one of the prettiest I’ve ever seen.

Many, if not all, of these ideas are gender neutral and perfect for boy or girl nurseries. With as many of them as I can, I’ve linked where to find the exact wallpaper. For those I couldn’t find, I’ve linked something similar.

These nursery wallpaper ideas, though, will have you fully on board with the wallpaper trend for 2024.

I don’t think this trend is going anywhere soon because it’s such a classic look that will grow effortlessly with your child.

The era of sad beige babies and nurseries is finally coming to its end and it’s time to start embracing some whimsical wallpapers for out children’s rooms!

Botanical prints and and nursery decor truly go hand in hand. Both represent life, growth, and blossoming!

If you’re looking for a great gender neutral wallpaper option, a beautiful green and white micro print might be just what you need.

This wallpaper from The Pure Edit is to die for. Especially paired with the sage green crib canopy, this look is so elegant and can grow with your baby.

2. Neutral Gingham

If you’ve scrolled through any of my other nursery or home decor posts, it’s no doubt that I’m a huge fan of gingham.

This classic print is stunning in every shade, a little bit youthful and fun, but always turns out looking beautiful.

I can’t get enough of this stunning beige-y creamy gingham wallpaper accent wall for a gender neutral nursery.

3. Royal Antlers

Credit: @1900stonefarmhouse

Any other rustic home decor junkies out there? When I stumbled upon this dark blue with antlers wallpaper, I couldn’t believe I had never seen anything like it before.

This wallpaper is PERFECT for a rustic nursery and pairs beautifully with deep wood accents as seen above.

Sometimes nursery themes can go a touch overboard, but a mini-antler wallpaper is the perfect way to incorporate a theme in a classy way.

4. Minimalist Grid

For those who lean towards a more minimalist decor approach in their homes, but still want the visual interest of a wallpaper, this grid is perfect!

It adds just enough decoration to the room without overpowering the space or other delicate decor.

This elegant wallpaper from @livetteswallpaper looks stunning as an accent wall, but I think it would look even better on every wall!

5. Enlarged Florals

Credit: @justforyoudecals

Nursery Wallpaper ideas don’t have to be full of micro prints and simple designs! Go big or go home with a mega enlarged floral print.

Wallpaper makes a statement, so don’t shy away from that! The muted colors keep this print from being too busy or loud.

Not only does this wallpaper look beautiful for a nursery, but I can only image how much this little girl will love her flower wall when she’s older too.

6. Elegant Landscape

The designers of the nursery in the photo above said they were faced with the challenge of designing a room that is currently a nursery, but will later be a guest room.

This gorgeous landscape wallpaper was the perfect choice for a multi-purpose room! It’s full of texture and ties in nicely with the darker colors present in the room.

A great way to do a landscape wallpaper is to choose something monochromatic that you can match to other wall or furniture colors.

7. Playful Plaid

Credit: @oliveandneon

You truly can’t go wrong with a fun plaid print for a nursery. For even more fun and visual interest, add it to the ceiling!

I love how this plaid print looks almost like it’s been painted with water colors. Plaid can be done so many different ways so why not choose something unique.

The fun thing about using a plaid wallpaper is it’s an easy print to match with crib bedding, throw pillows, or rugs.

8. Black and White Foliage

Sometimes it’s nice to go a more neutral route when it comes to nursery wallpaper ideas.

You know that the child’s toys, clothes, and various items will fill the room with color, so opt to keep it simple on the walls!

I’m a big fan of foliage prints that aren’t necessarily floral and this leafy vine print is to die for. You can even spruce it up with some adorable framed photos of baby animals.

9. Vintage Chinoiserie

Credit: @lauramnormanton

Similar to gingham, if you’ve spent anytime on my blog, you’ll quickly learn that Romanticizing Rachel is a big fan of chinoiserie prints. This wallpaper is no exception!

Something about the print is so classy, playful, and even a little bit nostalgic. It feels like a European summer home in a print.

This wallpaper is called Versailles by @cole_and_son_wallpapers and it’s the perfect way to elevate your nursery decor and create a space your little one will love.

10. Classic Stripes

Of all the nursery wallpaper ideas on this list, this stunning neutral stripe has to be my favorite.

I’ve been obsessing over striped wallpapers for nurseries and have decided it’s what I’m going to do in my son’s nursery! It’s such a youthful look, but not too youthful that you’ll have to change it in three years.

A great way to do neutral stripes is to dress it up with a fun paint color! I can’t get enough of the matching baby blue doors and trim combo.

11. Wild Jungle

Credit: @sixty3london

Infuse the outdoors into your little one’s life with a fun jungle printed wallpaper. Their imagination will run wild with the beautiful trees and animals.

I specifically remember the wallpaper that was in my childhood bedroom because I spent so much time at night staring at it and creating patterns with my finger.

What better way to encourage a love of the outdoors in your child than by providing them with a beautiful jungle mural to look at before sleep every night?

12. Precious Woodland

nursery wallpaper ideas

Credit: @thecheshiregreyhome

The woodland animal theme is all the rage for nursery decor right now and this wallpaper is a perfect way to tie in that theme.

Look for a wallpaper filled with not only animals, but also foliage and florals for a well-balanced look.

In the photo above, the designer of this room has done a beautiful job of coordinating the other decor colors in the room to the colors in the wallpaper. This gives the room a really put together and cohesive look!

13. Pretty Pink Rabbits

Credit: @raising.seb.and.evie

I think rabbits are SO cute for a nursery wallpaper ideas and this nursery is all the proof you should need to agree!

Maybe it’s because of the book The Velveteen Rabbit, but rabbits just have this very cozy and nostalgic feel in children’s decor and literature.

This stunning pink toned wallpaper is from @borastapeter and I can’t get enough of it. The design is absolutely gorgeous, the colors timeless, and the overall effect is perfectly sweet for a little girl’s room.

14. Storybook Illustrations

nursery wallpaper ideas

Credit: @ourstaffordshiresanctuary

This wallpaper called Forest Friends Wallpaper by @borastapeter is the nursery wallpaper of my DREAMS. It’s giving classic storybook in the most beautiful way.

What I love about wallpapers like these is how they can also be used as educational tools when your baby starts to grow!

Have fun teaching them the names and sounds of all the animals on their wall so they can better identify them in nature as well.

15. Retro Florals

Credit: @rikkisnyder

Sometimes it feels like florals for a nursery…how groundbreaking. Floral wallpapers and designs can definitely be overdone in children’s rooms, but you can always find a fun new spin on it.

This retro flower print wallpaper almost looks like a bunch of separate paintings put together to make one design.

I absolutely love the background green color and think it pairs perfect with the green gingham curtains and brass curtain rod in the photo above.

Gave my 100 year old walls the after 40 in Hollywo Gave my 100 year old walls the after 40 in Hollywood treatment and now they’re smooth as can be 🤣🤣

I explored so many different ways of addressing our popcorn walls:

I thought about tearing out all the lath and plaster, but was overwhelmed by the mess and thought of dealing with lead and asbestos 😳

I got a quote from a contractor to drywall, but it was nearly $3000 for four walls 😅

That left me with the decision to do it myself. We used 1/4 inch drywall right over the textured plaster. Because it was so thin, we didn’t have to reframe any windows or doors!

Overall with primer and paint included, this came to about $500 and I couldn’t be happier with the result.

We left the popcorn ceiling this time, but I’m thinking about doing shiplap over top. Stick around to see all the ways I’m making my 100 year old beauty come alive again!

I only kind of mean it as a joke 😅😅

There’s nothing wrong with loving a trend and wanting to recreate it in your home! I get inspired by other creators and their homes on the daily.

But I do think that Amazon and LTK have made it a little too easy to copy and paste what you see in someone else’s home!

We’ve lost a little bit of the ability to be INSPIRED. I mean in a way that drives you to find your own personal expression.

I offer this as a challenge, that next time you see a photo of an interior that you truly love…instead of buying all the same things, take a deeper look.

WHAT about the photo do you love? Is it a color scheme? A certain layout or maybe a style of lighting?

Could you find something similar at a secondhand store that’s a better reflection of you and your home? I bet ya could!

And if it really is a certain item that just ticks every box for you, then go ahead and find that link and get yourself that piece 🙂‍↕️

Social media and content is designed to get you whipping out that credit card every time you open the app. The coolest form of resistance is being slow and thoughtful about your spending 😎

Plus, your home will automatically become a better of reflection of YOU and not your fav influencer 😍

Nothing makes me happier than being able to give back to the people who pour in to me, and I’m beyond grateful to @hamptonbyhilton for letting me give such an amazing gift!

If you’re looking to treat someone who means the world to you, consider the gift of a summer road trip with a stop at @hilton hotels. Because when you’re exploring America this summer, it matters where you stay.

Amazon links have become so common that we don’t Amazon links have become so common that we don’t even think twice about using them, but should we?

I used to shop from Amazon WEEKLY. Picking up little things here and there to follow trends or utilizing the ease of fast delivery to my door.

But I never felt great about it knowing that there were small businesses out there that needed my money more. I just never knew where to find them.

That’s why I wanted to create this platform! To make shopping small and secondhand feel easy and sexy again.

If you’re not convinced yet, here are my top 3 reasons to stop shopping Amazon:
1. Sustainability- In 2019, Amazon’s carbon emissions (ONE company) surpassed that of the entire country of Norway. And it’s only grown since (like by A LOT).
2. Unfair Pay for Workers- Though they’re a multi-billion dollar corporation, most employees aren’t making enough to support their families.
3. THERE ARE NO ETHICAL BILLIONAIRES- I don’t want Jeff Bezos getting a penny from me 🥰

I also feel strongly that delivery services are the greatest contributor to the loneliness epidemic we’re experiencing today. We belong in public spaces, interacting with other humans at thrift stores and brick and mortar shops.

If any of this resonates with you, give @romanticizingrach a follow so together we can find the best small business alternatives and hold each other accountable to shopping secondhand 🫶🏻
