One of the most fun parts about pregnancy and first-time motherhood is getting to design the nursery of your dreams for your baby!
During those long nights of tossing and turning in the third trimester when I couldn’t get any sleep (thanks acid reflux), I spent all my time dreaming about the perfect nursery.
I would scour Pinterest for the best and most affordable options. Though I could find a lot of nurseries with a National Park theme or a woodland animal theme, I couldn’t find the camping themed nursery ideas I was dreaming in my head.
That inspired me to create this list of all my favorite ideas for a camp inspired nursery! These ideas are all gender neutral, easy to accomplish, and totally adorable.
You and your partner don’t have to be interior designers to get the nursery you’ve been imagining. All it takes is the right inspiration, a few trips to Hobby Lobby, and a determination to get it done before baby arrives!
Just keep scrolling and get inspired to create a wilderness wonderland for your tiny boy or girl that will set them up for a lifetime of loving the outdoors.

When it comes to nursery decor, I love the little personalized touches that set your nursery apart from other’s. Getting customizes signs and name plates is a great way to do that!
For a camping themed nursery, I’m obsessed with the national park sign with baby’s name engraved on it.
The look is rustic, woodsy, outdoorsy, and that sign will forever be a special memento for you and your little one.
2. Camping Themed Wall Arts

One of the easiest ways to highlight a theme in your nursery is by utilizing a wall art gallery!
It gives you the opportunity to tie in multiple images and objects, and looks even better the more you add to it.
I love this Smokey the Bear nursery print for a camping themed nursery. Other great adventure print options include national park artwork, images of cabins or campfires, and pictures of woodland animals.
3. Woodland Mural

If you really want your baby’s nursery to make a statement, consider painting a mural accent wall! Murals are such a fun touch to include in nurseries.
You can’t really get away with a large mural in other rooms of the house, plus your little one will be obsessed as they start to grow. The color palette of this mural goes a long way in achieving a woodsy feel.
Don’t worry if you don’t consider yourself an artist, you can always project an image on the wall and trace the lines before painting to achieve the look of your dreams with just a little patience!
4. Camping Wallpaper
Wallpaper and Photo from Rose Lindo
My absolute favorite trend for nursery decor this year is WALL PAPER! Wall paper is making a huge comeback and I’m here for it.
It’s such an easy and fun way to add a little whimsy to your camping themed nursery. This enchanting camp-themed nursery wallpaper from Rose Lindo is perfect for those with no previous wallpaper experience because it’s a stick wallpaper!
You can wallpaper just one wall for an accent wall, do the entire room (you can’t have too much wallpaper), or I love the look of wallpaper on the upper half of the room with molding on the lower half of the walls.
5. Miniature Tent and Camp Fire

Of all the ideas for a camping themed nursery on this list, I think this one is one of my favorite items. The best kind of decor for kid’s rooms is the kind that can be played with!
Get your little one their very own tent and campfire that they can play around in. As they grow older, this can become a reading nook or hideaway for them as well.
This set is so cute and the tent doubles as a jungle gym for when your baby becomes an adventurous toddler.
6. National Parks Poster Gallery

If you have a ton of extra wall space in your kids bedroom that you’d like to fill with wall decor, consider this national park artwork gallery.
It’s easy to find beautiful prints inspired by national parks on Etsy and they’re very cheap to print out. This would be a great decor option for over the changing table or above a rocking chair.
Take an old picture frame you have around the house (or source one from your local thrift store or nearby garage sales) and hang the prints on pieces of twine. It’s a great decor piece and you can use it as a learning tool as your child grows!
7. Kerosene Lantern Night Light

I’m all about the little details in bedroom decor. This adorable little kerosene lantern is PERFECT for an adventure theme nursery.
Night lights are a great way to decorate a nursery because not only are their functional, but they come in adorable designs and can be seen day and night!
Make the inside of your baby’s room feel like the inside of a large tent with a cute kerosene lantern nightlight that they can enjoy at bed time.
8. Tent Crib Canopy
I remember growing up how badly I always wanted a canopy for my bed, and I can’t get enough of this tent themed one for a camping themed child’s room!
The great thing about a ceiling canopy piece like the one above is it can be used for a crib, and it will look great for a toddler bed when you make the transition as well. Your little one will think it’s so much fun.
Also, if your nursery has a lot of natural light that’s hard to block out at night, having a canopy around the bed can help to diffuse some of that bright light.
9. Wilderness Prints

Get your little one curious about the great outdoors with some stunning wilderness prints to create a whimsical woodland wonderland!
The best way to inspire a love of nature (other than getting them outside as much as possible) is to bring nature into their surroundings.
As they begin to talk and get curious about things, you can point out “tree” and “deer” and all other nature related beauties.
10. DIY Trail Sign

One of the cutest and easiest DIY projects you can take on before baby arrives to bring some extra camping flare to their nursery is this adorable trail sign!
All you need is a few pieces of wood, some nails, and a little paint for this easy install feature wall.
Have fun with the locations on your sign too! The sign can point to “Mom and Dad’s room” or “play area” or other fun nursery themed options.
11. Tent Mural

Instead of purchasing a tent for your child’s nursery, opt for something more lasting by painting one on the wall!
This is a fun and easy way to make the room feel a little more playful.
Plus, if you purchase paint samples to create the mural, it’s very budget friendly as well!
12. Adventure Gallery Wall

Gallery walls are one of my favorite ways to decorate a nursery because there are truly no bounds to what you can create.
A combination of prints, antiques, banners, and shelves can be used to create a beautiful vignette that will portray your theme perfectly.
Etsy and Amazon are both great places to look when searching for items to fill out your gallery.
13. Pendleton Stripes

I’m a sucker for the classic Pendleton stripe color pattern based off the ever-popular wool striped blankets.
The red, blue, green, and yellow stripes are super recognizable and will infuse the room with the true spirit of a cozy camping cabin.
Whether it’s a blanket, a rug, or the curtains on the window, you can’t go wrong with incorporating this stunning and playful color palette.
14. A Book Tree

How absolutely adorable is this custom wall tree themed bookshelf?
I can’t think of a cuter way to display your child’s books. Imagine this with some string lights lining the sides as well!
This is definitely more of an involved DIY project, but if you’re up for it, your little one is sure to love it as they grow.
15. Crib Turned Tent

Get creative with your camping themed nursery by turning your crib into a tent!
I absolutely love this unique idea to add some personality to an otherwise clunky yet necessary part of a nursery.
Just be sure to build it tall enough so it doesn’t become a jungle gym as your little one grows!
