Last Updated: 9/23/24

One of my absolute favorite parts of my pregnancy was all of the idealizing I did before the baby came!

Kind of a joke, but honestly pretty true at the same time.

It’s so fun to dream about your future baby. Who will they look more like? What will their laugh sound like? All the fun questions that you spend hours thinking about.

There were two things I thought about constantly, though, in the early days. I would scroll and scroll on Pinterest visiting hundreds of blogs.

Those two things were my baby’s nursery and the baby shower!

The baby shower is the last big celebration that you’ll get as a mom that is your’s and only your’s before the baby comes.

Sure you’ll have Mother’s Day and birthdays in the future, but you’ll always want your kids to be a part of the festivities.

Now if you know me or if you’ve perused this blog, you know I have a love for all things rustic decor. So why would the baby shower be any different?

These rustic baby shower ideas are full of inspo photos containing wooden decor, nature-inspired design, and vintage antiques. All the personality and character that comes with a rustic theme.

Whether you have an overall rustic theme or some kind of subniche like Woodland Creatures or Forest Friends, there’s something for you on this list.

So keep scrolling for my favorite unique rustic baby shower ideas that will make a lasting impression on your guests. Time to celebrate you, momma!

Party themes are all about the little, or not so little details, like these stunning barrels! When curating decor, it’s always smart to keep in mind how you can incorporate levels.

These tall barrels that can come in different sizes are the perfect rustic decor for layering.

Top them with mason jars, antique lanterns, candles, or use them as a stand for a cookie tray, caramel apples, or any other kind of appetizer.

An important design element to consider when planning a baby shower is having a photo-worthy backdrop.

Not only will family and friends want to take pictures with the mom to be, but during the gift opening. you want a nice place for mom to sit so those photos turn out as well!

This is the part of your baby shower that will probably be seen the most so it’s a smart place to invest a larger part of your budget in.

4. Cute Country Baby Shower Favors

Party favors are one of my favorite parts about events like baby showers. They definitely create an additional cost, but when done well they are a great addition to the party.

Give your shower favors a rustic touch with themed desserts like these wooden-look lollipops.

Check out a local bakery or small businesses near you to see what fun design options they offer and surprise your guests with a little thank you of your own!

5. Natural Elements as Decor

Throughout these rustic baby shower ideas, you’ll find a common theme. Many of the decor elements mirror nature or look like they could be crafted from natural materials. This is always the key to pulling off a successful rustic theme.

There is no better way to make your space feel like a rustic country party than by utilizing beautiful stumps, vibrant fake moss, and twinkly string lights.

The good news about this decor style is, if you’re trying to save money, you can do a lot of your shopping outdoors!

6. Rustic Theme Clothes Line Seating Chart

How adorable are these little wooden name tags for a rustic baby shower seating chart? I’m obsessed with how they made it look like a clothes line using ribbon and clips.

Oftentimes, a seating chart is the first thing a guest sees when they enter the event, and this is the perfect way to make a good first impression.

If your baby shower doesn’t require a seating chart, you can repurpose this idea. Just leave the little onesies blank and have your guests write encouraging or helpful notes on them!

7. A Farm Focal Point

Sometimes all a themed event is missing is a stand out focal point. A baby shower is the perfect place to play up the novelty of your theme and go all out with a cut out barn!

Rustic baby shower decorations don’t have to be minimalist or boring, have some fun with it and incorporate some fun ideas that will pack a punch at your shower.

The goal with your rustic baby shower theme should be to wow your guests and make for a memorable party. What better way to add a little humor?

I absolutely love macrame details for rustic baby shower ideas. These sweet and elegant handmade pieces will give your space a calming, almost bohemian vibe that your guests will love.

You can curate your own decorative arch as seen above with a simple frame, lots of burlap, some macrame hangers, and little potted plants.

Hang it over the food table to invite guests over and get them eating your delicious apps and snacks.

9. Decorate with Natural Materials

The easiest and best way to achieve a rustic theme is by using as many natural materials in your decor as possible.

Think materials like jute, wicker, wood, wool, and foliage. The more you layer natural textures, the better they look!

Curate a gorgeous seating area with rattan chairs, a stunning jute rug, a some wool throw pillows for an ultimate cozy get to know me spot for your guests.

10. Nature Inspired Dessert Table

Now we all know desserts don’t really need any help looking appetizing, but it’s a great place to incorporate your theme!

These stunning woodland baby shower cookies are to die for and will have your guests ooh-ing and ah-ing over your attention to detail.

For these rustic baby shower ideas, the best way to pull it off is to have a variety in the cookie design. Whether your’re baking and decorating them yourself or purchasing at a bakery, plan for lots of different colors, shapes, and designs.

11. Wooden Block Baby Shower Sign

These letter blocks are such a fun idea for a baby shower because they are reminiscent of the kinds of baby blocks the little one will be playing with in a few short months!

You can stack any variety of letters to make baby’s name, a cute oh baby sign, or keep it simple with a good old-fashioned B-A-B-Y.

Like I mentioned earlier, great decor incorporates a lot of different levels and stacking blocks are a great way to add some visual height to your space.

12. Succulent Rustic Cake Design

Rustic baby shower decoration ideas are only limited to your own creativity and imagination! Anywhere you can think to add decor, can be made to look beautiful and pull off your theme.

I’m absolutely obsessed with these cactus topped cake because of how unique and original the design is (plus how appetizing it looks).

The baby shower is the last true celebration that mom gets for herself and only herself before the baby comes so make it extra special with details like this.

13. DIY Hula Hoop Decor

If you have a tight budget for your event, but don’t want to sacrifice on your decor, there are so many great ideas you can accomplish yourself for cheap!

Take these DIY hoola hoop wreaths as the perfect example. A little spray paint and foliage will take you very far.

Not all rustic baby shower ideas have to break the bank, instead get a little craft and get your hands a little dirty to achieve the shower of your dreams.

Amazon links have become so common that we don’t Amazon links have become so common that we don’t even think twice about using them, but should we?

I used to shop from Amazon WEEKLY. Picking up little things here and there to follow trends or utilizing the ease of fast delivery to my door.

But I never felt great about it knowing that there were small businesses out there that needed my money more. I just never knew where to find them.

That’s why I wanted to create this platform! To make shopping small and secondhand feel easy and sexy again.

If you’re not convinced yet, here are my top 3 reasons to stop shopping Amazon:
1. Sustainability- In 2019, Amazon’s carbon emissions (ONE company) surpassed that of the entire country of Norway. And it’s only grown since (like by A LOT).
2. Unfair Pay for Workers- Though they’re a multi-billion dollar corporation, most employees aren’t making enough to support their families.
3. THERE ARE NO ETHICAL BILLIONAIRES- I don’t want Jeff Bezos getting a penny from me 🥰

I also feel strongly that delivery services are the greatest contributor to the loneliness epidemic we’re experiencing today. We belong in public spaces, interacting with other humans at thrift stores and brick and mortar shops.

If any of this resonates with you, give @romanticizingrach a follow so together we can find the best small business alternatives and hold each other accountable to shopping secondhand 🫶🏻

Have to give my parents credit for this as well be Have to give my parents credit for this as well because even though I know now we were struggling, they never made it our problem as children.

Having less forced us to be outside more, be home more, spend more time together, and get through the hard times as a unit. It taught me to sacrifice and to be resilient, and I want my child to learn those same lessons in life.

Now obviously I’m not talking about the kind of poverty that leaves children hungry and uncared for, but most families live in the gray area between poverty and a comfortable middle class.

Don’t let anyone make you feel like you’re a bad parent if you’re in that gray area and living paycheck to paycheck. If your kids needs are met and you are loving them as hard as you can, then you’re doing more than enough to set them up for a life of happiness.

Do you agree with this take or am I totally off base???

It is so challenging to hold on to the passions that bring you joy after becoming a mom. I’m so grateful to have the opportunity to do things like this and be given grace and acceptance to bring my son with me everywhere I go.

In the darkness, we have to look for the light. Connect with your community, make some imperfect art, sing some songs that make you happy, and come back stronger with renewed hope.
