When it comes to wedding decor, one of the places you really don’t want to neglect is table centerpieces.

These beautiful vignettes can instantly elevate a dining space to make your reception feel very glam and expensive (even if they hardly cost a thing)!

A reception hall with no table centerpieces is bound to look drab and lacking personality.

Just because wedding centerpieces are important, though, does not mean it’s where you should break the bank for your budget.

There’s plenty of incredible stunning centerpiece accessories and ideas that you can find at an affordable price.

All it takes after that is a little DIY magic to create stunning custom pieces that your guests will be wowed by.

When shopping for your rustic wedding centerpieces on a budget, think of looking for items made from natural materials like wood, jute, or foliage.

Sticking to natural elements for the core of your design process will guarantee that your entire wedding looks cohesive, rustic, and full of charm!

1. Wood Slice Bases

Shop rustic wood slices

Every good wedding centerpiece needs a heavier piece on the bottom to ground the vignette.

The perfect way to do this for a rustic wedding is to use wood “cookies” as the base for your vases and florals. The best thing about using wood slices for your decor is you can often source these from local carpenters for totally free or very discounted.

You’ll see this as a common theme throughout many of these centerpieces because it’s the perfect neutral accent!

2. Tin Cans and Buckets

shop small tin buckets

If you’re looking for the perfect affordable alternative to buying glassware and crystal vases for your flowers, consider using tin buckets and cans!

I love the added rustic charm they bring to this centerpiece. You can purchase these buckets in all different shapes and sizes to create visual variation as well.

Dress them up with pieces of ribbon and lace, or leave them be and let that country charm shine through.

3. Vegetable Bases

shop pumpkin vases

If you’re shopping for wedding decor on a budget, the best place to look might actually be your local grocery store!

Although, if you want a less messy alternative, you can also buy artificial pumpkins and gourds for a very affordable amount.

This look is perfect for a fall or winter wedding! Your guests will be enamored with this unique alternative to glass vases. Pair the centerpiece with mini pumpkins at your place settings for a cohesive table.

4. Black and Gold Accents

shop black taper candles

The classic combo of black and gold makes for the perfect rustic wedding centerpieces on a budget.

Taper candles are one of those decor items that are an absolute must! They look so elegant, but can be bought in bulk for an amazing price. Bring a rustic gothic touch to your table decor with these black accents.

Don’t be afraid of adding a little darkness to your color palette! It will only make the brighter colors pop.

5. Lanterns for Lighting

I’m not sure what it is about lanterns, but they have always felt incredible romantic to me!
Maybe it’s simply because of the movie Tangled.

No matter the reason, I absolutely love the use of lanterns in wedding decor.

They’re the perfect way to have lighting a little more interesting than just plain white candles. They add a bit of a vintage rustic touch that will make your centerpieces much more unique.

6. Floating Candles and Sticks

shop assorted glass votives

Floating candles in votives is nothing new for wedding decor, but what better way to add some woodsy flare than floating sticks underneath the candles?

This look is reminiscent of a winter lake landscape with bare branches and clear water.

It doesn’t get more perfect than this for a rustic winter wedding! Plus, you can collect the sticks yourself to save money on decor!

7. Foliage Not Flowers

shop grass bouquets

I’ve been loving the new trend for weddings and event decor of using dried foliage as centerpieces instead of flowers!

Not only are these stunning bouquets much cheaper than fresh blooms, but they can last just as long as you can keep them protected.

These bouquets have much more of a rustic and back-woodsy look to them than any bouquet of roses could ever achieve.

8. Potpourri Made Pretty

shop potpourri bundles

Of all the rustic wedding centerpieces on a budget ideas on this list, this might be the only one with a dual purpose!

Let your centerpieces do more for the mood of the room than just look beautiful. Fill a vase to the brim with ingredients that let off a lovely scent to appeal to more than one sense.

Almost like a potpourri, this vase with oranges, cranberries, pine cones, and assorted nuts will fill the air with the smell of a rustic fall evening.

9. Little Logs

It’s not secret that adding wood accents to your decor will make any design feel more rustic, but sometimes knowing where to add it is the hard part.

If you already have your linens, your greenery, your candles and all other decor, consider bringing in some wooden finishes with these mini logs!

I love the campfire feel these give the table and something about them being so small makes the whole look feel much more elegant.

10. Recycled Liquor Bottles

Have you ever purchased a bottle of wine or liquor and been hesitant to drink the contents because of how beautiful the bottle is?

Well I’m here to tell you to drink up because those bottles will be worth more to you empty!

Recycle your vintage and rustic looking liquor bottles to use as vases for your rustic wedding centerpieces. Not only can you find basically any shape, size, and color you could want, but you also get a fun drink out of it.

11. Ring of Antlers

When it comes to rustic wedding centerpieces on a budget, the list would not be complete without mentioning the use of antlers in your decor.

Antlers are the perfect design tool to add interesting shapes and visual interest to an otherwise simple centerpiece.

The play between hard and soft with the sharp horns and the delicate flowers creates an absolutely stunning vignette that you don’t see just anywhere!

12. Birch Bark Vase Wrap

shop birch bark sheets

A great way to disguise thrifted or cheap looking glassware is to use an elegant looking wrap or cover up!

Stock up on ordinary vases at the thrift store, then make them look expensive with this birch bark wrap.

This is another great example of how to incorporate natural elements and wood touches into your decor. This look is totally unique and very easy to DIY.

13. Glimpses of Bronze

shop bronze paint

When you think of a rustic color palette, your mind probably goes to browns, greens, beiges, and creams.

What’s the perfect accent color to go with that palette though? A beautiful metallic bronze or copper!

If you love the look of shiny things, but want something a little more rustic than your standard gold or silver, this is the way to go. Bronze tends to look a bit more vintage and aged, plus it’s stunning next to greenery.

14. Baby’s Breath All Over

shop artificial bulk baby’s breath

One of the hard things about designing rustic wedding centerpieces on a budget is rustic decor can easily become heavy, masculine, and harsh.

To lighten the country decor and add a delicate touch, go heavy on the baby’s breath!

Baby’s breath is the perfect wedding flower because of the white color, elegant little blooms, and it’s much more affordable to buy in large quantities than other flowers.

15. Greenery In AND Out of the Water

Credit: @evokechancyfloral

shop artificial pine needles

Pretty much any wedding you attend will have some form of greenery lining the tables or ceremony chairs.

Not every wedding you go to, though, will use that greenery in unique ways like creating beautiful floating focal points.

I can’t get over the simple beauty of these pine branches placed in tall glasses of water. Not only is this centerpiece bound to smell incredible, but it brings the forest to the table for a stunning rustic look.

Okay I had a really really hard time keeping this Okay I had a really really hard time keeping this video under 3 minutes so some things I want to add in the caption 🤣🤣:

-One thing I have noticed is a decline in community correcting. If I’m not immediately by my child in a public place and they’re misbehaving, I think the adults around him should be able to tell him to knock it off. Lol we have to be okay with others helping us in their correction.

-I also think a lot of public places have become less conducive to bringing kids. We grew up with play places and corners with books and toys in most establishments, but I rarely see that anymore placing full responsibility on parents to bring things to entertain their kids which can be tough.

-Lastly my hope for this video is to encourage people to have more grace for children and moms (after all, shouldn’t we have the MOST grace for those who have been alive the shortest?) and that mothers will feel more empowered to bring their kids in public.

But maybe I’m wrong and the quality in parenting is rapidly declining? It hasn’t been my lived experience but what has your experience been?
