I’m a brand-new mom to a 19-month-old and I have made a promise to myself and to him that I will be the kind of mom that makes a big deal out of holidays.
Growing up, I always loved holidays and the extra excuse they gave to make certain days a little more special.
It’s fun when you get time off from school as a kid, but it’s even more fun when you can use that time to make traditions and do fun things with your family!
This is how I became a holiday basket type mom.
There’s nothing more fun than watching my friends and family’s faces light up when they see a personalized gift basket waiting for them the morning of a holiday.
It’s an easy way to show someone you care, make them feel special, and celebrate any holiday big or small.
Some holidays like Christmas and Halloween are easier to make themed baskets for, but some like New Years Eve can be a little more abstract.
That’s why I’ve compiled this list of my fifteen favorite New Years Eve basket ideas for all the other holiday enthusiasts out there like me.
There are ideas for kids, teenagers, adults, and everything between on this list so you don’t have to limit your gift giving to any one person in your life.
Start the year off right by giving to those you love most with these New Years gift baskets!

When you choose metallic decor, it’s going to look beautiful not matter what!

Whether you and your friends plan to sup on mocktails or cocktails all night, make sure everyone has the cutest cups to cheers with at midnight.
Any type of disco ball or silver and gold tumbler will do the trick.
I couldn’t tell you the science behind it, but every drink tastes a little better when served in a cute glass.
6. Winter Themed Goodies

New Years is the last big holiday before the winter drought until Valentine’s Day. A lot of people feel their worst in this time of year when it’s cold and dreary.
Make sure the person you’re gifting to has everything they need to stay feeling happy and healthy in the upcoming winter months!
Some pine candles, bath salts, lotions, and candy with champagne are sure to do the trick.
7. Mocktail Kit

Not everyone is looking to participate in the classic champagne and cocktails style celebration of the New Year.
Whether it’s for pregnancy reasons or they just can’t risk the hangover, this mocktail kit makes the perfect gift basket.
All you need is a cute cocktail glass, a shaker, a mocktail tonic, and some aromatic herbs to make everything feel extra special!
8. Sexy Party Reds

For those looking to score a kiss at midnight, this sexy red basket might be just the thing you need to get lucky!
I’m only sort of kidding, but you can’t lie that this red themed basket is very appealing.
Sometimes all you need to take a gift basket to the next level is a bright pop of color.
9. Disco Dreams

Most places don’t make Times Square New Years ball decorations, but a lot of places make cute disco ball decorations.
Same thing if you allow yourself to think a little creatively! Anything that glitters screams New Years Eve to me.
If you plan to watch the ball drop with friends and family, this disco themed gift basket is the perfect way to kick off the celebrations.
10. Big Golden Bow

Maybe you already have all the contents in mind for your New Years Eve gift basket, but you just aren’t sure how to make it look pretty.
This is where ribbon and bows come in. The easiest way to make a gift basket look special is with an oversized bow.
For New Years Eve, finding something silver or gold that glitters will set the tone just right!
11. Sweet and Savory Treats

Now this is the kind of basket that I would want to receive as a start to the new year! For anyone reading who knows me personally, hint hint.
The way to most people’s hearts is through snacks making this the perfect versatile New Years basket.
For a more elegant basket, go with high end cheese, chocolates, and wines to make a statement. If you’re planning this basket for kids, then sparkling cider and goldfish will do the trick!
12. Picnic Party Basket

Not only does this pink and gold basket look absolutely beautiful and adorable, it’s also incredibly functional for whoever it’s gifted to!
Stock a basket with themed plates, cups, and napkins to gift as a promise to have a New Years picnic or meal.
Sometimes the cutest baskets are the ones filled with a promise to spend time together instead of material things that may not make it to the next New Year.
13. Sweet Remembrances

I love this idea for a kids New Years Eve basket! Including a craft or project that makes a memory for the previous year.
Include a sheet of paper to collect a handprint or footprint from your child, then make this a tradition to repeat every year!
Once your little one is older and celebrating New Years with other friends and their own family, you’ll have these sweet little remembrances to look back on of your time together.
14. Interactive Kids Basket

I’ve always loved the idea of doing yearly interviews with the people in your family as a holiday tradition for the new year.
In my post about family New Years Eve activities, I suggested doing this home video style where you record everyone’s interviews to make a compilation down the road.
If there are members of your family, though, who feel a little weird or shy about being on camera, this is the perfect alternative!
15. Rose Lovers

For every two people who love champagne, there’s one who can’t stand it and would rather have rose!
They both bubble and look great in a flute glass, so who cares, right? Plus, rose pairs better with chocolates if you ask me.
Before gifting a New Years Eve basket to anyone in your life, make sure you have a good idea of the things they like so you don’t get them something they end up not using or consuming!
