My baby was born at the end of February last year so he is swiftly approaching one. The thing I’m MOST excited about this spring is getting to play with him, like actually play, outside for the first time!

Last summer he was so little and postpartum was so fresh that we spent most of our time inside. Now that he can walk and crawl and maybe even jump and run by then, we’re ready to take the backyard by storm.

This led me on a quest to making our backyard an absolute toddler play haven. I went on a bender trying to find all the best nature toys for toddlers. I found some pretty great ideas if I do say so myself.

This list makes me SO excited for summer with my toddler and I know it will do the same for you. Toddlers are at such an amazing age to mess around in the dirt and get truly dirty for the first time in their little lives!

Establishing a healthy imagination, adventurous spirit, and curiosity about the outdoors is crucial at this age. I know I will be doing everything in my power to teach my little one how amazing the outdoors truly are.

If you’re in that same boat as me, take a look at this list and be inspired about how to get your toddler outdoors this year!
